The other day my friend said this to me:
“I think to not do anything creative would be the same for some people’s souls as not breathing would be for the body.”
I have been creating and making from the time I could hold a crayon. There is something inside of me that tells me that I need to create. It is a desire that I crave to fulfill on a daily basis. Ideas are constantly floating around in my head and waking me up at night. When something truly inspires me, it over takes my mind and I spiral out of control thinking about it. It is like it needs to come out of me.
I create because:
I need to.
it is fun.
it makes me happy.
it fulfills me.
it is my voice.
it awakens my soul.
it is my passion.
it allows me to express my perspective of the world.
it is my offering to the world.
I want to add beauty to the world.
I love being part of the the creative process and seeing ideas come to life.
it is who I am.
I could go on and on, but there isn’t one true reason why I create. Once I start creating, I can’t stop.
I want to ask you the same question, Why do you create?
